Ashlyn + Furbabies // Christmas Photos

Ashlyn is one of the best! I love a girl who loves her pets like family, and she's hilarious and adorable. We had a last minute venue switch, and I love where we ended up! She found the perfect spot just off the road.

Her furbabies are so cute and SO sweet! I'm a little obsessed with her naked cat, Pearl. Lana, her sweet pup, wants to be loved and to explore everything, and Petey, her other cat, wanted nothing to do with our adventure. Ha!

Enjoy their little family session!

Lauren + Aaron // Dauphin Island Engagement Photos

I am so excited to share this session! Lauren and Aaron have been together five years, and are getting married next year. I had the privilege of capturing their engagement photos on a perfect Alabama coast evening.

It was a total dream session with their idea of shooting on Dauphin Island, AL (where he proposed!), with her gorgeous smile, amazing red dress, and their sweet connection! Enjoy!

I am SO looking forward to their wedding next October!

I will never get over these twirling photos! #allthehearteyesemojis

We had so much fun playing at section of beach with the rocks that we almost didn't have time to shoot at the hidden little spot where they got engaged, but we made it!

Ashley + Anthony // Navarre Engagement Photos

I met up with Ashley & Anthony at Navarre Beach on a breezy evening in October for their engagement photos. We'd only spoken on the phone, but I soon felt like I'd known them both for years! They are totally adorable together, and I LOVE how these images came out! He kept her laughing, and her smile is just the best. Enjoy their engagement session!

I can't WAIT to shoot their wedding next spring!

Maleah + Brody // Newlywed Session

Newlywed sessions are now my new favorite thing, and after you see these images I think you'll agree!

Brody is stationed in Japan, and flew home for just a week and a half to make all of this happen! Maleah & Brody got married in Tennessee with just their closest friends and family around. When they got home to Pensacola we met up on Pensacola Beach for the sweetest newlywed session! They were totally up for playing in the water and doing their signature move--a Dirty Dancing-style lift!--as many times as I asked.

Thank you for including us in your special wedding week, and congratulations you two!

Haslel + Josue // Laurel Wood Gardens Wedding

We had such a wonderful time creating both the photos and the film for Haslel & Josue's New Years Day wedding. Our team assembled at the breathtaking Laurel Wood Gardens, and we never stopped enjoying ourselves all day! Besides how gorgeous the venue, the people, and the details were, these two have such amazing hearts for each other and for their families & friends, and that's really what shines through in these images. The big wedding party was supportive and fun, and these two have a love for each other and for life that is contagious!

Check out our favorite photos from the day, and then watch their film below. Cheers!

Highlights:

  • her dress, his suspenders, and the way they looked at each other all day (including his face when he saw her: umm SWOON)
  • the entire ceremony setup: flowered arch, stunning oak trees, adorable sign bearer, flower petal toss for recessional (and the happiest joy-jump we've ever seen!)
  • personalized Tapatio! "forever picante"
  • amazing sunset portrait session: seriously, it was hard to narrow down our faves, and check out the adorable swing!
  • mariachi band
  • ice cream exchange (these lovers love ice cream!)
  • surprise flash mob choreographed and led by the groom!
  • bubble exit!
Stephanie + Pete // Navarre Wedding Film

Stephanie and Pete tied the knot one lovely spring day under the arms of a giant oak tree. These two made it look easy, and it was obvious to all that their love is the real deal.

InfoVid: What does a wedding videographer do?

In this video we share three things that you might not realize a videographer does.

1. Editing. A wedding videographer will spend approximately 30 hours editing your main wedding film (i.e. wedding highlights film). This doesn't include the time spent on editing a preview, ceremony or documentary edits, etc. Picking out the perfect, legal music takes time as well, multiple hours sometimes. If your package includes DVDs and Blu-rays, it takes hours to design, print, and burn the discs.

2. Equipment. Film is a very dynamic and powerful medium, and it requires many tools. Recording clear audio is very important, especially for moments like vows and toasts. Keeping shots steady requires many different kinds of stabilizers--tripods, monopods, gimbals, sliders, etc. Not to mention having camera bodies and a variety of lenses. It also takes loads of practice and experience to know how to use all of these parts together and quickly on a busy wedding day.

3. Social Media & Websites. How are you doing your wedding research? A lot of couples these days are using social media to find or to vet their wedding vendors. Writing blogs, updating Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. all take time. Don't get me wrong! This is a fun part of the job, and we love sharing our work with our amazing couples, but it does take considerable time and effort to keep all the content current.

If you found any of the information surprising, leave us some feedback! And if you found it helpful or know anyone getting married, share this video. Thanks for stopping by!

Savannah + Zachary // Butterfly House Wedding Photos

Savannah quickly became a dear friend after agreeing to second shoot for us a few times. She has a fantastic eye and always dances with me on the sidelines. When I found out that she and Zachary wanted to elope so they could both follow his orders to Washington State and that they wanted ME to photograph it, I was over the moon excited! They chose July 4th, planned for less than a week, and couldn't have achieved a lovelier day if they'd had a year! Savannah's mom had a hookup for the Butterfly House in Navarre, and we took full advantage of their fairytale gazebo, swing, and the garden. They let me play with poses and settings as much as I wanted, and they're natural models. These two are mad about each other, which you will be able to tell just from their photos, and I am SO happy for them. Thank you for letting Milestones be a part of your perfect day!

Highlights:

  • getting spiffy in a butterfly house
  • unique opal engagement ring
  • veils & ribbons dancing in the wind
  • the way he looks at her
  • the way she looks in that dress!
  • her gorgeous hair
  • totally awesome patriotic sunglasses
  • true love and laughter *heart eyes emoji*
